How does it work?

Electronic exchange of documents…

…and on-screen correction make for a quick service

Your work is edited on-screen using the track changes feature in Microsoft Word. It’s an easy feature to use, and full instructions are given when you submit your work. In general terms:

  • Amendments appear on-screen in red, so when your work is returned to you, you can see exactly where changes have been made. You can choose to work through each change and accept or reject it, or you can accept them all at once with one click of the mouse.
  • Sometimes there will be queries rather than amendments. They appear as comments in the margin, for you to address one by one.

If you don’t have Microsoft Word, it doesn’t matter. You can submit any .rtf document and your work will be corrected in the same way. Along with the final, corrected version, you will be sent a .pdf of the red text mark-up, so that you can easily spot the amendments.
